Baculovirus Protein
Expression made easy – flashBAC™ |
Dear valued customer, |
flashBAC™ is the perfect,
flexible and effective protein expression platform technology for the
production of recombinant proteins in insect as well as mammalian cells, well preserved in both their
structural as well as functional characteristics. It comprises a parental
AcMNPV genome that lacks part of an essential gene (ORF 1629), which removes
the need to separate recombinant virus from parental virus. |
We help you find the type
of flashBAC™ that is
right for you |
We offer several different
types of flashBAC™, each with different
set of deletions to enhance the yield of recombinant proteins. Yes of course,
also those difficult protein ones that you failed to express using other
methods ! |
l flashBAC™ – great for
expression of simple, nucleus- or cytoplasm-targeted proteins. |
l flashBAC GOLD™ – provides superior levels of expression for any protein
that is destined for secretion, or to be inserted in the membrane, or for any
protein that might be particularly liable to degradation. Enhanced levels of
expression of these proteins are due to chiA deletion which improves the
efficacy of secretory pathway, and v-cath deletion which contributes to the
reduction of protein degradation rates. |
l flashBAC ULTRA™ – the
ultimate version of flashBAC™. In addition to chiA and v-cath, three more
virus genes (p10, p74 and p26) have been deleted from the flashBAC ULTRA™
genome. This has allowed further improvements in recombinant protein yield
and quality to be delivered, making flashBAC ULTRA™ the best choice for the
most difficult to express proteins. |
l flashBAC PRIME™ – contains no gene deletions and has proven useful for
the release and subsequent purification of intracellular VLPs and protein
complexes. |
The recipe to create your
very own baculovirus using flashBAC™ kit is simple: prepare
the co-transfection mix of flashBAC™ DNA, transfer vector containing the gene of interest and
transfection reagent, use it to transfect healthy insect cells, incubate for
5 days et voila – the baculovirus is served. It may then be amplified and
used for experimental work. |
The simplicity of this
process makes it perfect for both the beginners only starting their adventure
with baculoviruses, as well as those with several years of experience wishing
to enhance their results or upscale the production. |
So why don’t you have a go and try flashBAC™ yourself? |
